Prim3 Hunt Release Plans: Core First, Steam Later
We are narrowing the first release around Prim3 Hunt: Core for Android while continuing the larger Steam edition of Prim3 Hunt.
What is changing
Our release plan for Prim3 Hunt is changing. Instead of holding the whole project until every planned feature is ready, we are splitting the work into two clearer releases: a focused Android game first, followed by the larger Steam edition.
The short version: Prim3 Hunt: Core will come to Android first. The expanded Prim3 Hunt experience remains planned for Steam.
The original idea was a mobile-first puzzle game built around a tactile number grid. As development continued, the design expanded into a broader PC release with online multiplayer, a story campaign, and additional game modes. That version is still exciting, but it is also much larger than the first playable core needs to be.
We do not want the expanded scope to delay the game indefinitely. This split lets us release a polished version of the core mechanics sooner while giving the Steam edition the time it needs.
Two releases, clearer goals
Prim3 Hunt: Core for Android
Prim3 Hunt: Core returns to the original mobile-first direction. It focuses on the essential single-player puzzle grid, tuned for touchscreen play and short, thoughtful sessions.
The goal is a tight, polished Android release built around the strongest part of the game: planning moves, finding primes, and improving with every round.
Prim3 Hunt for Steam
The larger Prim3 Hunt release remains planned for Steam. This version is where we can build out the broader strategy game around the core grid.
Planned additions for the Steam edition include:
- Online multiplayer: Competitive real-time math battles against other players.
- Story campaign: A larger structure and narrative around the prime-number grid.
- Custom game modes: Rule variations, challenges, and ways to play beyond the core mode.
Why this is the right path
Launching Core first gives us a cleaner foundation. It lets players try the central idea sooner, gives us better feedback on the main loop, and keeps the Steam edition from being rushed by the size of its own scope.
Thank you for following the project as it evolves. You can wishlist Prim3 Hunt on Steam now, and we will share more about the Android launch of Prim3 Hunt: Core as it gets closer.
