Prim3 Hunt Release Plans: Core First, Steam Later

What is changing

Our release plan for Prime Hunt (Prim3 Hunt) is changing. Instead of holding the whole project until every planned feature is ready, we are splitting the work into two releases: a single-player Android game first, followed by the larger Steam edition.

The short version: Prime Hunt: Core (Prim3 Hunt: Core) comes to Android first. Prime Hunt on Steam, with Story and multiplayer, follows later.

The original idea was a puzzle game for phones, built around a board of number tiles. As development continued, the design grew into a PC release with multiplayer, Story and more modes. That version is still coming, but it is much larger than the first release needs to be.

We do not want the larger scope to delay the game indefinitely. This split lets us release the core game sooner and gives the Steam edition the time it needs.

Two releases, clearer goals

Prime Hunt: Core for Android

Prime Hunt: Core returns to the original idea of a game for phones. It is the single-player game: drag across adjacent tiles to chain them, equal numbers add, different ones subtract, and only the target prime scores. It is made for touchscreens and short sessions.

The goal is an Android release built around the heart of the game: planning moves, hitting the target prime, and getting better with every run.

Prime Hunt for Steam

The larger Prime Hunt release is still planned for Steam, for Windows and Linux. This is where the game grows beyond the single-player modes.

On top of the modes in Core, the Steam edition adds:

• Multiplayer: Turn-based matches Vs Computer, locally on one computer, online, and with a Steam friend.
• Story: A level-by-level path into an old system that only answers to primes.
• Daily Challenge on Steam: A new challenge every day, the same for everyone, with a Steam leaderboard, plus Steam Achievements.

Why this is the right path

Launching Core first gives us a solid foundation. Players can try the central idea sooner, we get feedback on the main loop, and the Steam edition is not rushed by the size of its own scope.
